Internship – Delaney’s Landscape Center

Polson, MT

Position: Landscape Design Summer Internship
Type: Fulltime
Time Frame: mid May 2016 – early August, 2016 (earlier start date possible)
Compensation: Hourly with overtime, commensurate with experience
General Responsibilities: Delaney’s Landscape Center is a full service garden center and design/build landscape company that is devoted to quality and customer service. The intern will gain experience in all aspects of landscape design & installation, focusing on design and cost estimation.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Site visits
• Design & drafting (both landscape & irrigation)
• Cost estimation
• On site project layout
• Installation & construction
• Job billing

Required Qualifications:
• Landscape design or related major
• Exemplary customer service skills
• Ability to contribute constructively to a team work environment
• Ability to multitask and work flexibly as tasks and priorities shift to address current needs
• Ability to learn new things

Job Requirements:
• Basic AutoCAD & drafting skills
• MS Office
• Plant identification
• Ability to work in all environmental conditions
• Overtime or weekends may be required during peak season

Company Information: Delaney’s Landscape Center, Inc. is a family owned and operated business which was started in 1980 and has grown to be the largest garden center in the area. On 6 acres on the edge of town we now consist of four different departments: a large, well maintained retail nursery; nine greenhouses (where we grow our signature hanging baskets & custom planters as well as annual bedding plants); retail garden center; and the design/build landscape division. We are striving to build a team of quality professionals that can assist our customers in achieving great results.

Location: Delaney’s Landscape Center is located in Polson, MT on the south end of the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Situated in the beautiful Mission Valley, the area provides extensive recreational opportunities including boating, skiing, hiking, lake & fly fishing, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, mountaineering, hunting, and more. Glacier National Park, the Crown of the Continent is nearby. Polson is a community of 4,600 residents that grows significantly in the summer as people visit their lake cottages/estates and tourists enjoy the amenities.
